Pluto re-enters Aquarius

Pluto, the planet of seismic transformation will move back and forth between Capricorn and Aquarius until November 2024-then stays in Aquarius for the next 19 1/2 years. As the slowest moving planet, it takes 248 years to make a complete orbit around the Sun, spending anywhere from 11 1/2 years to 30 1/2 years in a sign due to its highly elliptical orbit. It’s transits through any sign bring profound life altering change.

In astrology, Pluto correlates with intense metamorphose, evolution, creation & destruction, death & rebirth. It is associated with the underworld and uncovering things that have been suppressed, denied or hidden, such as secrets, subconscious patterning, anything considered taboo and our inner shadowy depths. Pluto deals in matters pertaining to power, powerlessness and control.

The last time Pluto transited through Aquarius was between 1778 to 1798. During this time countries all over the world were rising up and challenging the ruling authority which brought about the American Revolution, French Revolution, and beginning of the Industrial Revolution. It was also the height of the Age of Enlightenment, and the first time humans took to the sky in the newly invented hot air ballon. The telescope was engineered, leading to the discovery of the planet Uranus, which revolutionized what was known about our solar system. It was an era of massive change that impacted humanity and our social structures throughout the world.

Plutos most recent transit through Capricorn began in 2008, and has had a profound impact on politics, finances, and traditional structures around the world. This transit has been characterized by a focus on power struggles, authority, and control, as well as the breakdown and restructuring of established systems. In the political sphere, we have seen major shifts in power dynamics and the rise of populist movements challenging established political parties and structures. Financially, this transit has brought significant instability and disruption, including the 2008 financial crisis and ongoing economic turbulence. Traditional structures such as government institutions, corporations, and even social norms have also come under scrutiny and faced challenges to their legitimacy. Overall, Pluto's transit through Capricorn has been a period of intense upheaval and transformation, with far-reaching effects that will continue to be felt for years to come.

With Pluto moving currently back and forth between Aquarius and Capricorn, Aquarian style transformation and revolution has already begun. Saturn influences the work needed for independence and breaking free from tradition and outdated social norms. Uranus, the modern ruler of Aquarius, represents innovation, unpredictability, and sudden (sometimes shocking) change. Uranus's influence brings a strong urge for progress, liberation and experimentation. Together, the rulership of Saturn and Uranus makes this sign a powerful force for radical change and social evolution.
